Our Story
Kids4KidsLA was founded in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when thousands of students were suddenly learning from home without the support they needed. What began as a fully online, student-led effort—high school students tutoring younger peers for free—quickly became a lifeline for families navigating unprecedented educational disruption.
Since its founding, Kids4Kids LA has remained committed to one core mission: ensuring that every student receives personalized academic support, regardless of circumstance or financial means. As the organization has grown, so has its reach. Today, our tutors are dedicated college students and college graduates who bring both academic expertise and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Through individualized, relationship-based tutoring, Kids4Kids LA continues to support struggling learners with compassion, consistency, and care—always free, always student-centered, and always rooted in the belief that students learn best when they are supported by those who understand them.

What We Offer
Tutoring &
Executive Functioning Skills
Kids4Kids LA provides free,
individualized tutoring for students in kindergarten through high school. Our undergraduate and college-graduate tutors support students across core academic areas, including reading, math, writing, and executive functioning skills.
Each tutoring session is tailored to the unique needs of the student. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, our tutors meet students where they are—helping them strengthen foundational skills, close learning gaps, stay organized, and build confidence in their academic abilities.
Kids4Kids LA partners with families to support students. Our focus is not just on completing assignments, but on helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed long-term.

Currently I am a dedicated pre-law undergraduate student at UC Irvine, driven by a deep passion for the legal field and a commitment to advocating for justice. I
am double-majoring in Psychological Science and Criminology, Law, and Society, providing me with a strong academic foundation in human behavior, critical thinking, and systems of law—all skills that enrich her work with students.

Alongside my studies,I has gained valuable hands-on experience at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, strengthening my research, communication, and case-analysis skills. My leadership roles and community service experience have shaped my ability to collaborate effectively, guide others with empathy, and create environments where students feel heard, supported, and motivated.
My role at Kids4KidsLA is not only as a tutor but also as the lead for Recruitment & Training, helping ensure that every tutor and coach reflects the professionalism, heart, and high standards for Kids4kidsLA.

“Kids4Kids LA’s Summer Reading Buddies program pairs students with dedicated college tutors who provide consistent, encouraging reading support throughout the summer. The individualized attention helped my child stay motivated, strengthen skills, and return to school more confident.”
Kids4Kids LA was created by my twin brother, Lucas Lopez, and me during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when families across Los Angeles were struggling to support their children’s learning. In response, we came together to provide free, peer-to-peer tutoring—connecting students with other students who wanted to help.
What began as a small, community-driven effort quickly grew into a trusted source of academic support for families in need. Through peer tutoring, we were able to meet students where they were, offer consistency during an uncertain time, and remind families that they were not alone.
During COVID and in the years that followed, Kids4Kids LA raised funds to support students and families in need by providing essential school supplies. With the generous support of the Toluca Lake community in Los Angeles—one of our strongest and most consistent supporters—we assembled and distributed over 100 supply boxes to students who needed them most.
This effort reflected the heart of Kids4Kids LA: neighbors coming together to support students, remove barriers to learning, and ensure that every child had the tools they needed to succeed.
